Has anyone watched....

Did you watch the Lifetime movie "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" or read the book? The movie was on a few weeks ago, but I just got around to watching it today (I didn't feel like working even though I should have been during Alex's nap) - I also read the book a while back. It's about a family who has twins in the '60's, one is born with Down Syndrome and the dad, the doctor who delivers them, gives the baby with DS away and tells everyone she died! The book is about how everyone deals with this and then how the baby grows up and how the secret comes out in the end. I think I needed a good cry today, because I literally cried through the entire movie! - - without going into detail, a lot of people I know and care about are hurting for various reasons - it makes me sad and well...sometimes crying it out over a great "chick flick" is the best way to deal! When I watch or read anything about disabled people kids, especially Down Syndrome - it makes me want to hold on to to him and keep him safe and happy forever. I love this photo of Alex - he's so typical in so many ways and we are blessed to have him! I'm so glad we live in the 2000's and not the 60's!
