Ben's and Lizzie's First Communion and Confirmation was a great day. It was Sunday, May 2 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church. Ben's sponsor was his Aunt Lynn and he chose "St. Mark" as his confirmation name. There was a retreat held the two days before the event, and I got to attend with him. The retreat was so wonderful - him and I really got to talk about his confirmation and the vows he was going to make and what they meant and what it means to be Catholic and believe what we believe. He was such an angel boy during the entire thing. I think he was really excited on Sunday and nervous also, but mostly excited. Ben did great and didn't forget anything he was supposed to do or say! I'm so proud of him, and Lizzie too.
After church, we had a party at the Phipps' house. Lynn and I planned a lunch including ham, salads, punch, and other great food. We had friends and family and I think the kids really enjoyed the day! Congrats Ben and Lizzie - I say prayers that you stay true to your beliefs and continue to grow in faith and love with Christ.
