The Phipps came over for a rare night all together.  We always say we need to get the families together more often, but it's so hard to coordinate!  Well, since it was Bill's birthday the next day, we got pizza and had cake and everyone had a great time!  It was loud with all the kids, but we realize we need to do it more often!~

Easter Prep Work

Terri and Mitch came over to help us color eggs in preparation of Easter the next day.  The boys did a great job and the eggs turned out very colorful and pretty!

Easter Party

We attended the Sharing Down Syndrome Easter Egg Hunt/Party this year.  It was the day before Easter and we met the Cohen Family there.  They took this photo of us with easter bunny , but Greg and Alexandra missed the picture.  The kids had fun finding eggs and also at the petting zoo.  It was a nice morning and everyone got a treat bag at the end when they turned in their eggs.  When Ben found out the eggs were empty, he dumped them all back on the ground for other kids to pick up - not realizing there was a treat at the end!  Thankfully brother shared some of his eggs and all was good!

Alex's 8th Birthday Party

For Alex's birthday party, we went to Desert Breeze Park.  It was a perfect day weather wise - a light breeze and an overcast warm day.  Everyone had fun riding the train and playing on the playground.  Izzy drinks and pizza completed the fun and Alex received tons of great gifts!  It's amazing Alex is already 8 years old!  He is a fun active little boy who loves imagination play and watching movies.  Alex loves pizza and popcorn, his brother and all his cousins and his friends Aubrey and Zachary.  We love Alex so much and are blessed to have him in our family!  Happy Birthday Alex!!

Another Pinewood Derby has come and gone.  Sadly, no trophys for anyone this year but each of their cars won a few heats and the boys had a good time.  Competition is good to learn, even if you don't win.  Ben was a little bit disappointed since it's his last year, but I think he still thought it was a fun day overall.

Donuts at school

Since Alex's Birthday was on a Saturday this year, I asked his teacher if I could bring a classroom treat in on Friday.  She said she was very excited for me to come since all the kids had seen that it was Alex's birthday on the calendar and they had been talking about it all week.  Alex requested donuts, so donuts it was!  The class had made him a big poster and put their handprints on it - so we all posed for a photo!  Alex has a new teacher this year - Ms. Alba - she is in the red shirt - she has been very kind to Alex and supportive of his progress.  Alex also loves the aids, but especially Ms. Vee (in the grey shirt).   Alex was so excited for his birthday treats and it was fun for him to show me around the class and see his old and new classmates.

I snapped a few photos of Alex at the Pack Meeting in March.  The boys were all so cute - they had brought their Pinewood Derby cars to practice after the meeting - since the Derby was the following weekend - and they were all so impatient waiting through the talking to be able to test race their cars, Alex being no exception!  I love that Alex is in a typical boys scout troop.  He does his best and the other boys seem to enjoy him as well.  Alex is currently a Wolf - Bears are next!!
