Bella has a sleepover

Markie's birthday sleep over was going on - so Lynn asked if Bella could have a sleep over with Alex at our house.  Bella and Alex had so much fun; as you can see by the goofy photos they wanted me to take.  The two of them started off in Alex's car bed, but of course that wasn't going to last long - so Alex slept with Bill and I stayed with Bella to sleep.  She didn't even miss her mom or cry or anything.  We loved having Bella over - everyone had fun!

More Yuma Photos

My dad and I out back at my folks' house
fresh peach!
It was warm enough for the pool!
The boys and Papa swam on Easter!  The water was a bit chilly, so they didn't stay in too long, but the weather was perfect!

Picking Fruit

The boys helped pick oranges and grapfruits off my parents' trees.  They also ate peaches off the peach tree too.  We brought a bunch of fruit back and I made fresh squeezed juice every morning this week - YUM!

Alex & Nana coloring eggs

Easter in Yuma was fun!  The boys enjoyed coloring eggs on Saturday with their Nana.  We also enjoyed eating them on Easter morning!  Alex and Ben were pleased the Easter Bunny found them in Yuma and couldn't resist checking out their baskets before we headed off to 8:30 mass.

Alex!

Could you die from the cuteness???  Alex was all dressed up for a "date" with his provider Kate.  She took him out to a special evening of fun in celebration of his birthday the week before.  They went to Dave & Busters and had dinner and played games and apparently had an awesome time!!  I didn't get a photo of them together - but did get Alex in his new outfit.  Can you tell he's excited!

Sometimes Alex will insist on eating or drinking whatever I'm eating or drinking - -this a.m. it was my coffee.  I made him his own mini cup with more creamer than coffee - so we hung outside waiting for the bus this morning, drinking our morning coffee!!

knitting

Lynn and I took a knitting class today at Tempe Yarn.  Damn - that is some hard shit to do!!!  Wow!!  I am appreciative of anyone who is talented at this!  It was 3 hours of really hard stuff - - my back and shoulders were aching from the stress of trying to knit!  We had fun, mostly, but I'm not sure if I will ever get the hang of it.  Also - I don't know what I was thinking - I have 2 jobs, 2 kids, I already scrapbook and never have time that that - and I also love to read and watch all my DVR shows in my spare time...when do I have time to knit??!!!  I got home and tried to work on it, so I won't forget, but it's slow going, even with the help of some you tube refresher videos!!  I would love to make a scarf or blanket some day...but for now I need to put in serious hours of practice.....!

Pinewood Derby, 2011

Trish and I worked at the snack bar all day!
Zach and Alex
Alex won first place in his Den!
getting ready to race!
Waiting at the finish line
Pinewood Derby was pretty exciting this year!  It was Alex's first time doing the Derby and he was really excited about his car and about racing.  Alex had a red car, that he helped paint, and picked out cool flame decals to put on it.  Ben had a gold car, which was really nice looking.  Both boys had fun.  Ben was a little disappointed that his car was not faster, but I think he still had fun.  The real excitement was Alex's car winning almost every race in his Tiger Den and winning a first place trophy!  Alex was tired from all the activities of the day, but had a really great time I think - he was very proud to win that trophy!
