It was a nice Mother's Day...not exactly as nice as a day at the spa...but nice nonetheless! I woke up at 7:30 AM to Ben dumping a gift on my bed and telling me to "wake up and open my present Mommy". Of course, Bill made no effort to block this rude awakening! Anyways, Ben was excited because they got me a Wii-Fit - - a great gift! One that I wanted! So, here we are at 8 a.m, playing Wii-Fit. It is a blast and we've been having fun with it. Bill made me eggs and bacon, Ben and I went to Mass and then that afternoon we took off for Janet/Helen's house. We met up with the Fee family and had Boston Market (so none of the Mom's had to cook!) and had fun watching the boys play outside and play Granny's Wii. It was a nice day and by the way, I'm thankful to be the Mom to two great Boys!!

Reasons Why Life is Good
It's All Good: WHY?
*Alex's heart problem is no worse, in fact it may be improved slightly!
*School is almost out - normally I'm not excited about this, but I have a plan to still work and it will be good to get out of the daily grind for a while.
*
I'm earning more money with PartyLite than this time last year.
*Alex is getting a lot better when I take him places. Did pretty good at the Tempe library today and NO stroller.
*Ben is a good kid.
*My birthday is in a couple weeks.
*Bill seems content this week.
*I feel thin.
And that are just a few reasons why it's all good today.

My Little One is not so little....
It is weird - everytime someone sees Alex lately they comment that he is getting so big and so mature and so tall and that his speech is so good. As a Mom, it's so hard to tell that stuff yourself, so when I hear it, it warms my heart! Alex IS growing and maturing and his speech IS getting so good. I'm so proud of him and the progress he has made! He is so ready for kindergarden and so am I! Go Alex! Nothing can stop you my boy!
We Walked ALL NIGHT!
Relay for Life was last weekend - it's an all night event that raises money for the American Cancer Society. I was proud to be a part of it! What a night we had! We arrived around 6:00 p.m. and I got home at 6:00 a.m. the next day. Our captain Stacy was a real stickler. She made sure at least one person made the loop at all time. The event was at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler. The core group who stayed all night was made up of my wonderful PartyLite consultants! The one thing I will remember about Relay '09 was the COLD and the WIND! The wind blew hard until around midnight, it was pretty miserable. About the only way to stay warm was to walk and walk some more! I wished I kept track of how many loops around that track I did - someone said each lap was about 1/3 of a mile - I bet I walked it 20 times easy! The event itself was very emotional at times - the luminary lap was inspiring. PartyLite donated 84 dozen tealights that the participants walked with. Even more amazing was seeing the track lit up with thousands of white luminary bags - each one decorated. Most were in honor of those who lost their fight with cancer. During the luminary lap I couldn't help but think about people I know who lost the fight - like Debbie Mendoza just this time last year, my Aunt Carol last year as well, Nancy's dad Tony, Elaine's parents - her dad I knew but her mom I never had the honor to meet, my friend Holly and so many others. I walked for them - to remember and to prevent.

Markie Birthday
Happy Birthday Markie! For his 6th one, he decided on a bowling party! It was at 9:00 AM on Sunday - - the kids had a blast and lots of adults bowled too! There is a new Brunswick in Gilbert and it's so nice! Happy Birthday to my nephew - he it truly one of a kind! Markie loves video games, his cousin Ben, whining, pizza, more video games, playing anything Ben is and hanging out with big kids!
Bill Turns 50!
Well he made it to 1/2 a century!! Bill had a great birthday - his work went all out! Decorating his "cube", a big party in the afternoon with cake and ice cream and a few of his co-workers took him to the "Tilted Kilt" for lunch! Then on Saturday, everyone went to Ichiban - our special occasion place of choice to eat! It was so good!! Bill got some nice gifts too!! Happy Birthday to my Hubby!

Disneyland!!
We got to the "Happiest Place on Earth" over Easter weekend! It was a trip that Janet (Bill's mom) initiated and mostly paid for, in honor of Bill's 50th Birthday! Mike, Terry and their boys also came. It was a great trip - Alex's first time in Disney! The boys had a wonderful time. We had a rough start with a tire blow-out on the I-10 on the way there, but once we got there, it was all good! We also made a trip to Medeival Times, which the boys absolutely loved! All in all, it was very fun and we were all sad when it was time to come back!
